Hi! It's Lily! Today I'll be showing you how to make rice packs.
Rice packs can be used for many things. Cold packs are very good if you have a sprain. They help with pain and cut down on swelling. Hot packs are great if you have an ache or sore muscles.
Time to fill them up! Fill up a cup with rice and fold the folded sock over the top of the lid. Turn it upside down and refill the cup! The reason to fold the top of the sock over is so rice doesn't spill everywhere. Make sure not to fill it up all the way.
Next you're gonna want to tie the sock right above where you filled it using a rubber band. This step also prevents the rice from going everywhere and making a huge mess.
Time to sew it up! I used a sewing machine (remember to back stitch) and stitched right below the COLD label. If you don't have a sewing machine, you could hand stitch the top or find some other way to close the top. Make sure you don't leave any spots unsecured in the top so the rice doesn't spill.
Cut off the extra string, make any needed adjustments, and then you're done!

If you'd like to make your own, make sure you have the following items:
- A pair of old socks (make sure they don't have any holes)
- Rice
- A sewing machine (or something to stitch up the top with)
- 2 rubber bands
- Scissors (use with sewing machine)
Let's get started!
First start off by labeling one sock HOT and one sock COLD. You'll be making both of them, but I'm going to use the cold pack as my example.
Once you've finished labeling them, decorate! Make them as crazy or simple as you want them to be! I wrote my name on mine.
Next you're going to fold over the top of the sock (above picture) and get your rice ready.Next you're gonna want to tie the sock right above where you filled it using a rubber band. This step also prevents the rice from going everywhere and making a huge mess.
